Job Summary

The Pharm, a leader in the cultivation and manufacture of medical-grade cannabis products, seeks experienced Associate Proposal Manager. This position reports to the Senior Proposal Manager and CEO and is responsible for assisting in the preparation and submission of highly-detailed requests for applications solicited by state and local governing bodies for the licensure of medical marijuana businesses.

The Associate Proposal Manager will collaborate with a team of professionals to uphold The Pharm’s best-in-class quality standards and identify the most effective way to present proposed approaches and technical qualifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Job Requirements

  • Drive proposal content from contributors, writers, SMEs and reviewers to the proposal outline and schedule and assure that the proposal is compliant, compelling and persuasive in accordance with the application requirements.
  • Create proposal outlines and compliance matrices, and develop annotated writing templates for writers and SME developing quality content.
  • Integrate capture strategy, win-themes, customer hot buttons, discriminator/differentiators, and ghosting techniques throughout the proposal.
  • Apply interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather needed information from subject matter experts to support writing activities.
  • Research and collaborate with subject matter experts to resolve, mitigate and escalate gaps and risks to organizational leadership.
  • Write clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translate technical and other ideas into easily understandable text; rewrite and review proposal sections and related proposal documents.
  • Review the final production materials to ensure that message quality, format and content meet the stated objective and are consistent with strategy and communication guidelines.
  • Manage document production or ensure smooth handoff to administrative personnel for final edits and printing.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to help improve proposal quality.
  • Support writing of technical, management, past performance, and resume sections.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of writing experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience writing major proposal sections and supporting the full proposal development life cycle in a regulated industry
  • Ability to surge work schedule to meet proposal schedule demands
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and G-Suite skills
  • Excellent writing skills, including understanding of grammatical rules, punctuation, sentence structure, and active/passive voice
  • Ability to track and share work progress and action items using a variety of tools, including G-Suite, Asana, Microsoft Excel, and Slack
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with a variety of personnel and organizations
  • Detail-oriented; productive without compromising quality
  • Strong project management, organizational, critical thinking and time management skills

This position can work remotely with teams in Phoenix, Columbus, Kalamazoo, and Detroit. 10% travel is required.
