Desert Valley Testing (DVT) is a cannabis testing laboratory providing accurate and reliable results to the cannabis industry in Phoenix, Arizona. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Laboratory Technician to join our team. The Laboratory Technician position is critical to the daily operations of DVT: attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills are highly desired. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent fluctuations in the workday due to analytical and client's needs.


  • Age 21 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Meet qualifications for Arizona Dispensary Agent Card
  • 1-2 years professional or research laboratory experience
  • Proficient in Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
  • Proficient in basic computer programs such as, Microsoft office, Google docs, Open Office and Adobe
  • Ability to use standard laboratory equipment such as a pipette and analytical balance.
  • Ability to measure with precision and accuracy using volumetric flasks and graduated cylinders
  • Ability to read and understand analytical standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Interact with clients and provide positive customer service

Other desired qualifications, but not required:

  • Degree/Educational background in Chemistry is preferred
  • Knowledge of GC, GC/MS and HPLC instrumentation is preferred
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Practices

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Receive and log samples into a database
  • Prepare and extract samples for analysis according to DVT's SOPs
  • Complete daily checklists for extractions and general laboratory duties
  • Accurately record weights and volumes on daily logs
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and consumables/supplies inventory
  • Record maintenance and calibrations performed on laboratory equipment and instruments in designated logs
  • Communicate with Chemists and Office Staff throughout the workday
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • General office duties such as filing and reporting payments to Finance

Pay depending on experience and qualifications. Open availability including nights and possibly one Saturday a month.
