Summary/Objective: The paralegal position is a skilled craft position to ensure compliance with the licensing and licensing renewals for cannabis grow facilities. This position is responsible for compiling and completing all licensing in conjunction with city and state regulations and standards. The position interacts in a consistently pleasant and helpful manner, demonstrating the highest standards of internal and external customer service responsible for the completion of licensing researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist the VP, general counsel by performing a variety of support duties.

Work Environment : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions: Interprets the laws and ordinances pertaining to licensing and compliance.

  • Subject matter expert on all city and state licensing requirements
  • Properly track all licenses as determined by the organization
  • Create compliance SOPs for tracking and review
  • Perform standard license reviews to ensure filings are done timely
  • Foster professional business relationships with the regulatory agencies
  • Provide compliance training to employees and clients

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in highly regulated industry
  • Valid state industry badge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
