  • Planning and organizing production schedules for production, packaging and extraction teams.
  • Manage staff schedules.
  • Interview, hire and train new associates; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance.
  • Work with the quality assurance team to ensure product meets specification.
  • Assist with special project planning and implementation including; production line installations or relocations, equipment installations, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity levels through efficiencies in human capital, reduction of material waste and elimination of down time.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Assist the purchasing manager to ensure ingredients, packaging and finished product inventory levels are maintained appropriately and accurately throughout the organization.
  • Oversee maintenance of all manufacturing equipment through a preventative maintenance plan.
  • Liaison between logistics, sales and marketing staff to communicate operational interruptions.
  • ERP implementation; assist with initial implementation, test trials, troubleshooting and ongoing improvements.
  • Asses current methods of production to identify and implement ways to streamline processes.
  • Assist with designing the operational layout of Kiva’s next manufacturing facility.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when working in the production and packaging departments. The noise level in the general office space is usually moderate.Physical DemandsThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, or crouch.



Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

5+ years of management experience in a food production environment.

You must have experience working in a cGMP environment, and meet quality and hygiene requirements that would be common in food manufacturing.

Passion for working hands–on with colleagues on the production floor.

Excellent communication, conflict management, decision-making, motivational, organizational, process improvement and leadership skills.

Ability to recruit, lead, coach and develop employees.

Ability to provide excellent customer service.

General awareness of medical cannabis industry is helpful.
