Job Summary

As part of a lean Marketing team in a fast-growth startup, the Social Media Manager will oversee Hampden Care’s social media channels, amplify Hampden Care’s voice and engage our online following. This person will be a key contributor in communicating our brand positioning, supporting our patients and building key relationships with influences in the rapidly developing medical cannabis market. We are seeking someone who is a natural storyteller with the ability to communicate through digital platforms. A proven eye for design and strong writing skills are essential to this role.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Curate and create original content using strong writing, photography and Photoshop skills and knowledge of social platform best practices.
  • Serve as the brand voice for Hampden Care on Social platforms, and uphold all brand guidelines, aesthetics and messaging in a regulated environment.
  • Be the expert on company happenings. Foster strong relationships throughout the organization, including senior management, to keep a pulse on company events and news.
  • Respond to social media inquiries, comments, and suggestions in a timely manner with tact and compassion
  • Monitor medical cannabis social landscape to stay aware of any trends, issues or opportunities
  • Identify key social influencers for potential collaboration and content distribution.
  • Assist with various digital marketing tasks as needed (SEO, online reputation management, emails etc.), and contribute to overall Marketing strategy.
  • Monitor and evaluate KPIs across all social platforms and make optimization recommendations to improve engagement and campaign effectiveness. Regularly distribute key metrics/analytics/feedback

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Photography, Design) or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in social media management, preferably for a consumer brand.
  • Proficiency in digital photography, video editing, and Photoshop is required.
  • Ability to write and edit within Hampden Care’s brand voice and style.
  • Political savviness and ability to navigate various situations delicately in a regulated marketplace.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexible, organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment with multiple priorities.
  • Interest in health/wellness or medical cannabis. Resonance with Hampden Care’s mission statement.
